Meet Sasha

Hi! I’m Sasha — a newborn and family photographer in Pittsburgh. As both a mom and an artist, I know how quickly those first days with your baby pass.

I love creating calm, safe sessions where babies feel cozy and parents can simply relax. My joy is in capturing the tiny details — the curl of a finger, the softness of their cheeks — so you’ll always remember how it felt to hold them in these sleepy and sweet moments.

Newborn Photography FAQs
Sasha Danielle Photography

Where can I book newborn photography in Pittsburgh, PA?

You can book your newborn session directly with Sasha Danielle Photography, a luxury portrait studio located in Bridgeville, PA. I proudly serve families across Pittsburgh and the South Hills, including Upper St. Clair, Mt. Lebanon, and South Fayette.

What’s the best age for newborn photos?

The ideal time for newborn photography is between 7–14 days old, when babies are naturally sleepy and curled. However, I can create beautiful newborn portraits for babies up to 6 weeks of age.

But please don’t worry if you’ve missed that window. I always encourage families to reach out — even if your baby is a little older, we can still create priceless milestone portraits. These sessions often capture more eye contact, expressions, and personality, which are just as meaningful.

The truth is, the only portraits we regret are the ones we never take. Every stage of your baby’s life is worthy of being preserved as a timeless family heirloom.

Do you provide outfits for moms, dads, and babies?

Yes! I offer a curated wardrobe collection of over 200 designer pieces — including flowing gowns for mothers, soft wraps and outfits for newborns, timeless options for siblings, and coordinating pieces for dads. This means you never need to shop or stress about clothing.

Is newborn photography safe for my baby?

Yes — your baby’s safety is always my number one priority. I use gentle, baby-led posing and never force positions that aren’t natural or comfortable.

Most importantly, your baby will never be taken out of your sight. As a mom myself, I remember the early days after having my son and how I never wanted him more than a few feet away. That memory shapes how I care for every baby in my studio.

While some photographers may take babies into a separate room away from parents, that will never happen here. I photograph your baby right next to you at all times. Parents are heavily involved in every stage of the session, and nothing is ever done out of view.

✨ My goal is for you to relax knowing your baby is safe, secure, and cared for — while I create portraits that will become treasured family heirlooms.

Can siblings, parents, and grandparents be included in newborn photos?

Absolutely — I encourage parents and siblings to be part of every newborn session. These portraits celebrate not just your new baby, but the love of your entire family.

I also love when grandparents join. To make things easier for them, I’ve created a special studio space downstairs, so they don’t need to climb a full flight of stairs into the upstairs shooting area. With just one small step, grandparents can comfortably enter our downstairs shooting space and be photographed with their grandchild.

This extra space was designed with family in mind — because I believe every generation deserves to be part of your baby’s heirloom portraits. We go the extra mile to ensure that all family members feel welcome and accommodated.

Should I book both maternity and newborn photography sessions?

As a mother, I can tell you — your pregnancy is a once-in-a-lifetime moment for this baby. While every child is special, you’ll only carry this little one once. That’s why I highly encourage expectant moms to capture both their maternity glow and their baby’s first portraits.

Book both your maternity and newborn session together for a seamless experience — two chapters of the same beautiful story.

When should I book my newborn photographer in Pittsburgh?

The best time to book your newborn session is as soon as you enter your second trimester. This guarantees that your due date is reserved on my calendar, since I only take a limited number of clients each month to provide a full-service experience.

✨ However, even if you’re booking last minute, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Sometimes families need to reschedule or I have an unexpected cancellation, which means I can occasionally squeeze in a last-minute newborn session depending on my availability.

The sooner you contact me, the better chance I’ll have of securing a session for you.

Can I still book if my baby has already been born?

Yes — if your baby is already here, contact me right away. I often hold flexible openings for last-minute newborn sessions in Pittsburgh and Bridgeville.

How long does a newborn session last?

Most sessions last 1–3 hours, giving plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and capturing multiple looks.

What if my baby is fussy or won’t sleep during the photoshoot?

That’s completely normal! Sessions are built with flexibility in mind. Awake babies are still beautifully photographed, and we take breaks as needed for feeding and cuddles.

Do you sanitize props and the studio?

Yes — every blanket, wrap, and prop is carefully sanitized between sessions. My Bridgeville studio is kept clean, cozy, and baby-ready.

Do you offer maternity + newborn packages?

Do you provide maternity and newborn mom-friendly gowns?

Yes — my curated wardrobe includes a wide selection of flowing, elegant gowns designed specifically for maternity and newborn photography. Each piece has been carefully chosen to flatter every stage of pregnancy and to photograph beautifully in both my bright, airy Bridgeville studio and in my outdoor field locations.

All of my gowns are new-mom friendly and accommodating — perfect for a growing belly bump during pregnancy, or even for the weeks right after giving birth. You can be rest assured that we have plenty of options to fit you and your style, whether you prefer something soft and romantic, modern and minimal, or timeless and classic.

✨ My goal is for you to feel comfortable, confident, and radiant while creating portraits you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

What should we wear for family portraits during a newborn session?

I provide wardrobe styling for the entire family. The full family has access to my full curated collection, so everyone looks polished and timeless.

Why hire a professional newborn photographer in Pittsburgh instead of taking my own photos?

Professional newborn photography ensures safety, expertise, and heirloom-quality results. With years of experience soothing and posing babies safely, plus professional equipment and styling, I create portraits that feel timeless and polished — something that quick snapshots on a phone simply can’t achieve.

What makes Sasha Danielle Photography one of the best newborn photographers in Pittsburgh?

Families choose me because I offer a luxury, stress-free experience. From my curated wardrobe and professional hair & makeup, to my baby-friendly studio and heirloom artwork, I’ve designed every detail to make the process simple and enjoyable for parents while capturing portraits that will last generations.

Do you offer in-home newborn photography in Pittsburgh?

While most families love the bright, airy look of my Bridgeville studio, I occasionally accommodate in-home sessions depending on availability. Reach out to discuss your options.

Do you offer newborn photography gift certificates?

Yes — gift certificates are available and make a perfect baby shower or grandparent gift. Loved ones can contribute toward your session or heirloom artwork.

Do you offer holiday or themed newborn photography sessions?

I don’t specifically offer themed newborn sessions, since my focus is on creating timeless, heirloom-quality portraits that never go out of style.

✨ However, I do host a special Santa event and a limited number of holiday-themed family mini sessions each year. These are exclusively available to my VIP list before anyone else, and they always sell out quickly.

Click here to Hop On The VIP List and have access to holiday themed events.

How do you keep babies calm and comfortable during a session?

I use gentle posing, white noise, swaddling, and warmth to keep babies calm. With years of hands-on newborn experience, I know how to soothe and work at the baby’s pace.

How soon will I receive my newborn photos?

Ordering appointments are scheduled for 1-3 weeks after your session. Albums and artwork are typically delivered within 6–8 weeks of your ordering appointment, depending on design and production.

Can I purchase all of the digital images from my session?

Yes — many parents choose to purchase their full digital gallery. I also encourage investing in heirloom albums and wall art so your portraits can be enjoyed daily in your home.

Do you offer milestone photography after the newborn stage?

Yes — I offer baby milestone sessions (tummy time, sitting, first birthday cake smash) to continue documenting your baby’s first year in Pittsburgh.

How far in advance do Pittsburgh newborn photographers book out?

Most professional newborn photographers, including myself, book out several months in advance. That’s why I recommend reserving your due date during your second trimester to secure a guaranteed spot.
