Some sessions feel like poetry—and this one with Baby Colby was exactly that. From the quiet anticipation during her mama’s maternity session to the joyful connection of the newborn portraits, every moment felt like a page out of a beautiful story.

As a Pittsburgh Newborn Photographer, I get to witness so many families welcoming new life, but there’s something especially tender about seeing a mother on the edge of transformation. During her maternity session, it was just her and her baby bump. The studio was filled with soft light and quiet energy, allowing us to truly focus on the connection between mother and baby—even before they met. She was radiant. Peaceful. Strong. And so clearly in love with the little girl growing inside her.

Then sweet Baby Colby arrived.

For the newborn session, we brought the whole family together—mom, dad, and big sister, who already adores her new baby sister. The way she held Colby’s tiny hand, leaned in to kiss her forehead, and watched over her with gentle curiosity—it was just pure sweetness.

These early moments of sibling bonding are so fleeting, but so powerful. You could feel the shift in this family as they moved from three to four—more love, more joy, and more of that beautiful chaos that comes with a newborn in the house.

Mom and dad were relaxed and grounded, soaking in every second. Their love for each other and their girls made photographing them effortless. These kinds of sessions aren’t just about portraits—they’re about connection, legacy, and honoring a chapter that passes far too quickly.

I recently used Sasha for my maternity and newborn photos. She was so kind and amazing to work with. She made the entire process so comfortable and smooth. I loved that she offered hair and makeup options too, and I felt so special on photo days. She worked so well with my husband and daughters as well, and was cognizant of time working with them. Her studio and photography style are so so gorgeous as well, I know that I’ll cherish these pictures forever and will certainly be using her services again!
