Pittsburgh Newborn Photographer | A Glowing Maternity Session with Jodi Lynn

There are some photography sessions that stay with you forever — and this one was truly one of those unforgettable moments. As a Pittsburgh newborn photographer, I have the privilege of capturing so many different journeys into motherhood, but photographing my dear friend Jodi’s maternity portraits was extra special.

A Friendship Turned Full Circle

Jodi and I go way back. She’s not only an incredible hairstylist and makeup artist, but also someone who has stood right beside me in the studio for years. Together, we’ve empowered countless women by helping them feel strong, radiant, and truly beautiful. From behind the chair to behind the lens, Jodi has been an essential part of so many of my sessions — and now it was my turn to give that gift right back to her.

To be able to show her how breathtaking she is as a mother, expecting her second baby, was a true honor.

Light, Creamy, and Beautifully Bold - Pittsburgh Newborn Photographer

This maternity session was filled with all the things I love most as a photographer: soft, creamy light, dreamy tones, and raw authenticity. What made it even more special was Jody herself — covered in the most beautiful tattoos, including a striking one across her belly that perfectly highlighted the miracle of new life growing inside her.

Including her young daughter in the portraits brought everything together. Watching her little one kiss, snuggle, and laugh beside her mama made the images that much more meaningful. You can feel the love between them in every single frame.

A Story in Two Parts

This is just the beginning. Jodi’s maternity journey was so powerful that I decided to split her portraits into a two-part maternity session series. Part one showcases her natural glow, her daughter’s excitement, and the incredible bond of motherhood. Part two will be just as stunning — a continuation of this special story we are telling together.

Why This Session Means So Much

As a Pittsburgh newborn photographer, I don’t just take pictures — I capture legacies. Photographing Jodi, someone I’ve worked alongside for years, felt like coming full circle. We’ve both dedicated our careers to helping women feel beautiful, confident, and empowered. This time, it was my privilege to help Jodi see just how radiant she is as she prepares to welcome her newest little one.
